Nicaragua: Little Corn Island – Karibik

Somehow the photos speak volumes.

Sun, beach and love, what more is needed on holiday?

For the 8 days on the beautiful Caribbean island, we only missed one, the perfect place to stay. Even if one could assume, it can hardly be cooler. First a casual beach and then a colorful house with unbelievably many great details. But I’ll tell you what’s missing this island: A bungalow with a private bath on the beach with lots of privacy. Even that would theoretically be $ 300.- for the night or waived the dream beach in the north of the island. Because on the east coast is quite, but there you would have to do without the perfect beach.

But now again from the beginning:

After a quick visit to Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, the island of Big Corn Island. Panga to Little Corn Island, which was a very fast-paced, wet and gruff affair. The island reaches the point of view in its northern part just a height of 38 meters. Here 698 inhabitants live on 3.1 km ². Not very big. The amazing thing about this little island is that there are no roads and therefore no cars, no mopeds, no golf caddies and not even bicycles at night.

That means you have everything on foot. A 2 km walk from the beach back to the village. A fine thing during the day. At night, however, I found it a bit spit, because so very hilarious were the ‘yo man types’ then not.

So we spent the first days in the north at the dream beach and lived there in Ensuenos . Simple things from nature http://www.bigcornisland.com/ensuenos.html The disadvantage is that I have said that you have to do without luxury and privacy. Another option would be at the Otto Beach, the Following for me much too expensive accommodation: Yemaya Iceland Hideaway & Sp a. We therefore use the luxury of enjoying the imaginative food and beach bar with fresh coconuts and rum right on the beach. The offshore reef is beautiful. Rarely does one look for an intact hard coral reef. And only 20 meters from the beach.

In the village there are a few small supermarkets, a church, a school and a baseball field. But for us tourists there was not much. The restaurants can be counted on one hand. So for those who are looking for party, this island is not a focal point. You can not go shopping either. What is next to delicious lobster food, certainly a dream, is for the underwater world around the island. Unfortunately, I did not make it because of my chronic pain of sleep, which I am very sorry. As I said, what a great, snorkeling was amazing.

The people are pretty relaxed, you only really understand the language. Because of the Caribbean, which is not well understood, due to the slang. 3 Hubba Bubba in the mouth.

8 days Karibk, 8 days sun, lots of fantastic food and happy hours. We have spent a lot of time with other couples and have met many nice, nice people.

After a nice flight with a tiny propeller back to Managua, we turned to a room at the Hilton hotel and ended the holiday with a good red wine and good food.

I would say: Nicaragua is definitely worth a visit! It is not dangerous, it is cheap and the people are very friendly. If you ever have the idea to know this part of the world, just let me know!

I have only one thing left to say. Spatzl it was wonderful to travel with you. Every day was just great.
